Indigenous Languages, Told At Eye Level

A home for the indigenous languages of Latin America — introduced the way any language deserves to be: as something to learn, not just to admire. And this is only the beginning.

Beyond The Map

Open a language map of Latin America and you’ll find hundreds of names most classrooms never mention — some spoken by millions, some carried today by only a handful of elders. Each one holds a way of seeing the world that no translation fully captures.

2019 was declared the International Year of Indigenous Languages by UNESCO, followed by the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032).

Communities, linguists, and language keepers have been doing this work for generations, quietly and persistently, long before any headline caught up. INTI Languages starts with a handful of these languages — and this is only the starting point. Many more are still to come.

Maybe you already speak five languages. Maybe today is the first time an indigenous language has crossed your path at all. Either way, you’re welcome here.

„Not a museum piece. Not a checklist. Just language – spoken, lived, and ready to be learned.“

Side By Side, Not Behind Glass

Too often, languages like these are framed as something to visit — fascinating, distant, other. Here, they stand where any language would: side by side, on equal footing, ready to be learned rather than merely admired.

Because unlike an object behind glass, these are languages people speak today — right now, shaping how someone greets the morning, argues with a sibling, or falls in love.

A Note on Perspective

I write and create from the perspective of a curious learner. I do not claim indigenous knowledge as my own. Everything I create draws on my own experience with language learning — a subject I’ve been passionate about for many years.

That’s why you’ll find curated collections of existing learning resources here, alongside courses and products designed to speed up your progress. Any product that conveys deep, specific knowledge of a language or culture is created with, or by, native speakers.

Where This Is Going

Picture INTI a few years from now — not just one voice, but many: native speakers stepping in to teach and share their own language, on their own terms, with learners scattered across the globe. That’s the horizon this project keeps walking toward, one curated resource, one course, one conversation at a time.

It’s going to be an exciting journey. And I hope you’ll join.
