Hey, I'm Heidi

Nature lover, language enthusiast, and happiest when getting lost in a meaningful conversation.

„Somewhere between Cuernavaca and Mexico City, I started noticing a pattern I couldn’t ignore.“

I was on a bus, half-watching the landscape go by, when I caught myself doing something odd: comparing place names. The town near where I was staying, the villages my colleagues came from, the pyramids outside the window, names I’d been hearing for months without really listening. The same handful of syllables kept turning up, again and again. I asked someone what they meant — and that’s how I got my first real glimpse of Nahuatl.

It took almost ten years before I actually sat down and started learning it properly. I still do and I still love it. But if I’m honest, what stayed with me longer than any single word was how the people I met made me feel — not like a visitor passing through, but genuinely part of things, if only for a while.

Nature

Alone, on a trail — that’s where I reset, think clearly, and come back with new ideas.

People

Every place I’ve ever felt at home in, I owe to the people who let me in.

Languages

Once I discover patterns in a language, I just have to dive deeper into it.

Encounters

The random ones, more often than you’d expect, turn into something meaningful.

If a place name, a random pattern, or an offhand comment is ever enough to send you down a rabbit hole too — you’ll feel right at home here. I’m always chasing the next one.

A Note on Perspective

I write and create from the perspective of a curious learner. I do not claim indigenous knowledge as my own. Everything I create draws on my own experience with language learning — a subject I’ve been passionate about for many years.

That’s why you’ll find curated collections of existing learning resources here, alongside courses and products designed to speed up your progress. Any product that conveys deep, specific knowledge of a language or culture is created with, or by, native speakers.
